Merlin OTT Suite VMS provides a secure and efficient way to upload your content via FTP. This method is particularly user-friendly when dealing with large files or multiple uploads. Each video template is assigned a unique FTP account, ensuring that content can be uploaded seamlessly according to the specified template, making the upload process more organized.
-
First, a video template must have been created in advance. If you haven’t created a template, please review the article titled “How to Set Up a Template?”
In Merlin VMS, select the template where you want to upload your content from the Video Templates menu.
- Click on the selected template to go to the details page.
- In the details page, click on the FTP section.
- Click the Add FTP button in the top-right corner.
-
If the content has a condition such as multi-audio (Multi-Audio) and additional information is required for encoding this audio, the "Wait JSON" option must be activated. If there is no such need, the "Wait JSON" option can be left unselected, and the FTP account can be created by directly clicking the Add FTP button.
After the FTP account is created, follow these steps to retrieve the FTP details:
Go to the Advanced menu.
-
Click on the FTP section.
In the FTP Account Information section, select the template for which you created the FTP account.
-
The FTP Username, FTP User Password, and Primary Domain information for the selected template will be displayed.
After obtaining the FTP details, you can use an FTP client like FileZilla, WinSCP, Cyberduck, or any other 3rd party FTP connection provider to upload your content. Additionally, please remember that the IP addresses of users who will access FTP must be whitelisted by Erstream. You should contact your system administrator or send your request to support@erstream.com for this.
-
To log in to FTP using WinSCP, use the following details:
- Host: Primary Domain
- Username: FTP Username
- Password: FTP User Password
After logging in, upload your content to the folder named after the selected template to start the encoding process. Make sure that your content is uploaded into the folder with the exact name of the template.
Once the upload begins, you can track your content through the Merlin OTT Suite VMS panel. Your content will be added to the Contents list.
