What is MerlinCDN Workspace

Workspace is a role and resource-based access control (RRBAC) system built-in MerlinCDN. RRBAC introduces role and resource concepts to access control and provides a flexible approach in managing users with various roles and permissions on different resources.

Three primary rules are defined for role-based access control which is employed in MerlinCDN Workspace:

  1. Role assignment: A subject can exercise permission only if the subject has selected or been assigned a role.
  2. Role authorization: A subject's active role must be authorized for the subject. With rule 1 above, this rule ensures that users can take on only roles for which they are authorized.
  3. Permission authorization: A subject can exercise permission only if the permission is authorized for the subject's active role. With rules 1 and 2, this rule ensures that users can exercise only permissions for which they are authorized.

You can manage roles and resources belonging to multiple companies, branches, or separate organizations in a corporation. It provides a flexible approach to differentiate configurations, rights, and permissions for user roles on each Workspace and allows you to own multiple clusters in MerlinCDN that are totally isolated from one another.

Workspace environment is highly efficient for Project Managers, Consultants, Engineers, and of course C-Levels as it saves your valuable time and efforts by allowing you to get full control of your projects in a single platform. Workspace is especially important for organizations that have many workers, employ consultants or project-based employees, need to permit access to third parties, like accountants and vendors. It improves operational efficiency all the while giving the owners and administrators increased visibility on MerlinCDN resources.
