VMS Content

Content and content creation steps form the foundation of a Video Management System (VMS) and are indeed crucial for its functionality. These steps represent the core essence of managing and organizing video assets within the system.

Content serves as the backbone of any VMS, encompassing various media files such as videos, audio files, or multimedia content. It is through the content creation process that users can upload, categorize, and manage their video assets effectively.

The content creation steps involve key actions such as providing a name to identify the content, specifying the content type (e.g., audio or video), assigning a reference ID for integration with other systems, and adding a detailed description of the content.

To streamline the management of video and audio assets in an OTT platform, the content management panel provides convenient filtering and search options. These features are designed to simplify the user experience and enhance the efficiency of content management tasks.

With the filtering functionality, users can easily narrow down the content selection based on specific criteria. They can filter by various attributes such as content type, genre, duration, release date, or any custom metadata associated with the assets. This enables users to quickly locate and work with the desired video and audio content.

CONTENT IDENTIFICATION & CREATING

Content can be created from the content creation menu in Erstream VMS. When creating content, the following information needs to be provided:

  • Name: The name of the content.
  • ContentType: Select the appropriate content type. Choose "AUDIO" if the content is an audio file, otherwise leave it as "VIDEO_AUDIO".
  • ReferenceId: This is an optional field to match the content with another system, such as a CMS. The provided ID will also be included in webhooks for reference.
  • Description: Provide a detailed description of the content.

VMS supports audio codecs including AAC, AC-3, MPEG-1 Layer 2, and PCM.
